Secluded Cabins with Great Views of Smoky Mountain National Park
We live and work in the city but love coming to the mountains to enjoy the peace and quiet. In 2006 on the recommendation of a friend we spent a weekend at Cobbly Nob. We stayed at Amazing Poing of View and were really impressed with the view and the privacy. We had been thinking about buying a cabin and by chance this one was for sale so of course we inquired about it. We loved everything about the place except that it was really run down and needed some major repairs and upgrades. We kept in contact with the realtor and before too long we found Bear Hug which is a sweet place with lots of privacy, a great view, and was in very good condition. We really liked it so we bought it. As much as we loved Bear Hug, we couldn't get the Amazing Point of View out of our minds, so a few months later when we realized that it was still for sale, we bought it too. We knew that we were in for a major renovation job, but were lucky enough to find a great local contractor, and we all went to work. The place was gutted, the foundation was shored up, and the roof and deck were torn off and replaced. The original roof line did not take advantage of the view, so a dormer with large windows was added. The existing windows did not do justice to the view, so they were replaced with much larger ones. The interior was completely re-built with new pine floors, walls and ceilings. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely remodeled. In short, we built a new house using as much of the old structure as we could save and we could not be happier with the results. In 2008, 7 acres of vacant land that surround Amazing Point of View came up for sale. We knew that some developers were interested in buying that land and because we feared that whatever was done with the land would spoil the privacy, we bought it. Now the property is a completely private 9 acre nature preserve and we intend to keep it that way. In 2009, a house that is adjacent to Amazing Point of View came up for sale. At first we were not interested in buying it, but in the depressed housing market of 2009 the price kept dropping. We knew that the place was in good shape and had great potential, so when the price dropped low enough we bought it and decided to do something a little different. We converted the attached garage to a deluxe home theater room, re-built the deck, refurbished the kitchen and did some other cosmetic work. We renamed the place Showtime to reflect the fact that if you like to watch movies or sports in a theater setting, this is a place you should check out. In 2011 we continued the renovations to Showtime. We took some unused space and built an in-suite master bathroom with a large 2 person steam shower, a mountain view whirlpool tub, a 2 sink vanity, and a separate toilet room. We also updated the 2nd upstairs bathroom, instaled new pine bedroom doors, and rebuilt the stairway to make it more comfortable and safer. Having these 3 cabins is like having 3 children. They are all different and we love all of them for different reasons. We are committed to keeping our cabins clean and in top notch shape. All of our cabins are equipped with a washer, dryer, hot tub, hi-speed wireless internet, cable TV, free local phone, a pool table, and outdoor gas grill. There is swimming pool access at Cobbly Nob in the summer. Our kitchens are all outfitted with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, pots & pans, table settings, and all the cooking utensils you will ever need. When you arrive your place will be clean and equipped with fresh towels and bed linens. We invite you to come for a stay and hope you like our vacation spots as much as we do.
